Studying Abroad with IELTS Courses (International English Language Testing System)

Are you planning to stay, work and study in Australia? As part of certain Australian visa requirements, you will need to clear the IELTS exam. IELTS is the International English Language Testing System which tests English proficiency across the globe. IELTS tests are held in over 500 centers with tests up to four times a month. IELTS respects international diversity and is fair to anyone who sits the test, regardless of nationality.

They are two types of IELTS Test: IELTS Academic & IELTS General Training.

IELTS Academic:

The IELTS Academic test is for people applying for advanced education or expert professional registration in an English speaking environment. It takes into consideration whether you are ready for studying or training.

IELTS General Training:

The IELTS General Training test is for those who are planning to go abroad and who are going to English speaking Countries for secondary education, work or some type of training program. It is also a requirement for migration to Australia, New Zealand and the UK. They are 4 modules within the IELTS test.

IELTS Listening Test:

- The Listening test is the first module of the IELTS test.
- It takes approximately 30 minutes to complete and an extra 10 minutes at the end to transfer your complete answers to the Answer Sheet.

IELTS Reading Test:

-The Reading test is the second module of the IELTS test. It comes immediately after the listening test and requires a total of 60 minutes to complete. The reading component consists of 40 questions.

-There are three sections. 
  • Section 1 may contain two or three short texts or several shorter texts.
  • Section 2 comprises of two texts.
  • In Section 3 there is one long text.         
IELTS Speaking Test:

-The Speaking test is an interview between you and an examiner. The Speaking test is to determine how effectively you can communicate in English. They give between 11 minutes to 14 minutes

-There are divided into three parts.
  • Introduction and Interview  (4-5 minutes)
  • Talking about a particular topic  (3-4 minutes including 1 minute preparation)
  • Two way Discussion (4-5 minutes)
IELTS Writing Test: 

The IELTS writing test is divided into two modules. The total time allowed for both tasks is 60 minutes.
  • Writing Task 1: A diagram will be given and you will need to write and describe information presented in a diagram. A diagram is usually a line graph, a bar chart, a pie chart, a table information.
  • Writing Task 2: It is short essay, where you will have to give your concise opinions and write a clear argument or discussion. You should write minimum 250 words and spend no more than 40 minutes on the task.
